According to different application fields, glass window films are currently divided into three categories: architectural glass window film, automotive glass window film, and safety glass window film.
1. Architectural glass window film
With the main purpose of energy saving and heat insulation, it also has UV protection and safety functions. This kind of film can also be divided into heat reflective film and low-emissivity film. Heat reflective film, this film is attached to the surface of the glass to allow visible light and near-infrared light to pass through the room, but not far-infrared light. Therefore, enough light enters the room, and most of the solar heat is reflected back, keeping the indoor temperature from rising too much in the hot summer, thereby reducing the indoor air conditioning load, achieving air conditioning cost and energy saving. Low-emissivity film, this film can transmit a certain amount of short-wave solar radiation energy, allowing solar radiation heat to enter the room and be absorbed by indoor objects; at the same time, it can retain more than 90% of the long-wave infrared reflection radiated by indoor objects indoors. Low-emissivity films can make full use of solar radiation and long-wave radiation energy of indoor objects. Therefore, it can achieve insulation and energy saving effects when used in cold areas and heating buildings.
2. Car glass window film
It is attached to the inner surface of the car glass and has the functions of energy saving, heat insulation, UV protection, safety and anti-theft. At the same time, the requirements for the visible light transmittance and visible light reflectance of window films are also very high, especially for front windshield films. According to the "Technical Conditions for Safety of Motor Vehicle Operations", "the visible light transmittance of the front windshield is not allowed to be less than 70%." "Mirror reflective sunshade film is not allowed on all car window glass." Because it is used on car windshields, the visible light transmittance after applying the film must be greater than 70% to meet the requirements of the national standard GB7258-2004.
3. Safety glass window film
There is a layer of glue with extremely strong adhesion between the film and the glass. The film itself has good tear resistance and penetration resistance. Even if the glass is broken, it can maintain its original overall state, preventing the glass from being damaged due to accidents. Secondary damage to the human body caused by shattering and splashing. Its main function is safety and explosion-proof, and is generally used in some important places or exhibition halls such as banks and other financial institutions, jewelry store windows, museums, hotel lobbies, etc. This kind of film also has a certain ability to insulate heat and ultraviolet rays, and has high transparency.
In terms of production technology, glass window film can be divided into three categories: dyed film, primary color film, and vacuum coating. Dyeing films can be divided into ordinary films, surface dyeing films, and sandwich dyeing films; vacuum coatings can be divided into vacuum evaporation coatings and magnetron sputtering coatings; according to the different materials being plated, they can be divided into metal films and ceramic films.
4. Ordinary film
Commonly known as tea paper, it is made by mixing dye into glue and coating it on polyethylene material. It is the oldest production method. It is rarely used now because it has no heat insulation, no UV protection and a short shelf life.
5. Surface dyeing film
The dye is coated on the surface of the PET substrate. It feels very soft, lacks sufficient toughness and explosion-proof properties, is not resistant to ultraviolet radiation, is easy to fade, and has a short shelf life.
6. Sandwich dyeing film
The dye is coated between two layers of PET substrates. It feels very soft and has certain UV aging resistance. Due to its low cost, this type of dyed film is still sold on the market.
Characteristics of dyed films: low visible light reflectivity, lack of good heat control properties, easy fading (usually turning purple), and easy blistering after long-term use.
7. Primary color film
Refers to glass window film without added organic dyes. So far, there are only two types of optical-grade PET films: gray and colorless polyester films. Other colors of PET films must be dyed to achieve them. The characteristics of the original color film are that it feels better, is not easy to fade, and has a long shelf life.
8. Vacuum evaporation coating
By applying a thermal evaporation (for pure metals with low melting temperature) process, films can be coated with various metals, alloys or oxide coatings. The vacuum evaporation process usually uses pure aluminum coating, and can be made into films with different visible light transmittance and reflectivity, so that the film has the best sunlight control performance.
9. Vacuum sputtering coating
Usually in a large vacuum chamber, an inert gas environment with very low pressure, and under the action of electric energy, various metal or metal composite targets are impacted by charged ions to form a multi-layer dense metal film with low reflection and high heat insulation. layers, orderly and evenly coated on the surface of the polyester film, and the composite process produces a variety of unique stable colors and high-level transmittance selectivity to ensure that the product has sufficient toughness, explosion-proof, heat insulation, Anti-UV 99%, long shelf life.
10. Ceramic membrane
A glass window film containing ultra-thin ceramic coatings such as SiO2 and TiO2. It does not contain a metal layer and does not interfere with the GPS satellite navigation system, radio communications and mobile phone reception in the car at all. At the same time, it does not oxidize and fade, compared with metal films. Easier to maintain and durable. It has low reflectivity and moderate light transmittance. Weigu's amber ceramic film, 3M Fabia automotive insulation film, and Johnson & Johnson's basalt series automotive films all belong to this type of product.
All the above glass window film products must have a one-way protection function, that is, one-way prevention of damage from the outside to the inside, but no obstruction to damage from the indoor to the outside. When unexpected disasters such as fires, earthquakes, car accidents, etc. occur, People indoors can easily break through the glass to escape.
